Anita Endrezze was born in Long Beach, California, and earned her M.A. from Eastern Washington University. She is an artist as well as a poet and short story writer. Endrezze's watercolor paintings and illustrations have been reproduced in many art books. She is the author of two chapbooks and a children's novel, published in Denmark. Her book At the Helm of Twilight won the Weyerhauser/Bumbershoot Award in 1992 and the Washington Governor's Writers Award in 1993. Currently, she lives in Spokane, Washington, where she is a storyteller, teacher and writer.
