A searchable database of summaries about hazardous substances and the most frequently asked questions about the effects of these substances put together by the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry. These summaries include basic lay-person information about specific chemicals such as pronunciation and where they can be found in the environment, a picture of the chemical (molecular), general properties and scientific names, information about exposure to the chemical and its consequences, health information, and environmental hazards associated with the chemical. References as well as additional information telephone numbers are also provided.
