This site was created as a class project and still provides useful information. Waves of immigration are looked at in their historical time frame and explained in a narrative form. There are some nice old photos as well. The explanations are rather brief but it is a good place to start researching immigration.

Immigration and Multicultural Affairs

There are lists of research and statistics, legislation and other information. There are also forms available on the site which you can fill out if you want to visit Australia, migrate to Australia, return to Australia as a resident, extend your stay in Australia as a student etc. (There are over 20 different types of forms!)
