Do you have a school project that you need help with? Have you been wondering about something and you really want to find the answer? We might be able to help you. The Web is a big and sometimes confusing place to search for answers to your burning questions, but there's a lot of really good information out there that you might want to see. Here are some places that you can check out to get your answers:
Do you need some help figuring out how to search for things on the Web? Here are some great tips. If you can't find what you're looking for there, come back to this page and we can give you more help. You can ask one of our librarians to help you answer your question. All you have to do is fill out a form. The only problem is that we gets lots of questions - sometimes too many - so you may get a message saying we are too busy to take on your question at this time. We also cannot help you if you need an answer in < 3 days. If you need an answer in less than three days, you should try looking on your own or ask for help at your local or school library.
Alternately, we may refer your question to another reference service. The IPL has partnered with the Library of Congress' Collaborative Digital Reference Service and the U.S. Department of Education's Virtual Reference Desk in order to get their help with questions that the IPL staff are too busy to answer and/or would be better handled by a subject expert. You will be notified if your question has been taken over by one of these services. Both services will continue to protect your privacy. You can read their policies here and here. If you're ready to ask us for help, just click here to fill out a question form.
